This committee ensures that issues of cultural and ethnic diversity remain at the forefront in the thoughts and actions of KYACAC members and the educational community. The committee supports outreach efforts at early, intermediate, and transfer levels intended to increase the number of college students from low-income and ethnically diverse populations.

Committee responsibilities include:

• Planning and executing the KYACAC Guiding the Way to Inclusion (GWI) event, an annual pre-conference workshop designed to help educational professionals at all levels work successfully with a more diverse population whose needs often differ from those of the majority population
• Developing a Diversity Speakers’ Bureau
• Compiling LGBTQ resources and serving as a reference source for counselors and students during the transition to college
• Serving as a resource for undocumented students
• Administering grants to support special projects that promote equality and access
• Determining funding needs and grant opportunities  for members to attend NACAC’s Guiding the Way to Inclusion Workshop (GWI)
• Considering important issues related to diversity, equity, and access for member institutions
