This Student Impact and Success Committee ensures that issues related to impact, access, and student success remain at the forefront of KYACAC members' thoughts and actions within the educational community. This includes, but is not limited to, topics surrounding cultural and ethnic identity, accessibility, socioeconomic status, documentation status, and gender. The committee supports outreach efforts at early, intermediate, and transfer levels to increase college access and success for students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Committee responsibilities include:
Planning and executing the KYACAC Guiding the Way to Impact (GWI) event, an annual pre-conference workshop designed to help educational professionals support and engage with students from various backgrounds whose needs may differ from the majority population.
Compiling resources and serving as a reference source for counselors and students navigating the transition to college.
Serving as a resource for undocumented students.
Administering grants to support special projects that promote student access and success.
Identifying funding needs and grant opportunities for members to attend NACAC’s Guiding the Way to Impact Workshop (GWI).
Considering important issues related to student access and success for member institutions.
